The Tata Altroz has been spied numerous times while testing but we now have a glimpse at a production-spec model up close. It is expected to be unveiled next month with the launch soon after. These latest spy shots show it sporting a red exterior paint colour for the first time.
This premium hatchback is Tata’s first product built on the carmaker’s new ALFA ARC platform. It was first showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and the production-spec model looks a lot like it. These spy shots show it wearing 16-inch alloys wrapped in 185/50 rubber while the majority of cars in the segment like the Baleno and Elite i20 offer wider 195 cross-section rubber. A peek at the front end shows the Altroz gets halogen projector headlamps with LED DRLs.
The cabin of the Altroz can be seen sporting a dual-tone black and grey theme as shown in the recent teasers while the upholstery seems to be a monotone dark fabric. The model spied is a manual variant which also has the touchscreen infotainment display.
Tata will launch the Atroz with three engine options: 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and a diesel engine as well. It is expected to get both manual and AMT options at the time of launch.
The Tata Altroz will be competing against the likes of the Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Baleno/Toyota Glanza, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo. It is expected to be launched with prices ranging between Rs 5.5 lakh and Rs 8.5 lakh.
