Registered Jeeps spotted in Mumbai, launch in October

One of our avid readers, Samira Kelkar has spotted the Jeep's Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler on the streets of Mumbai. These vehicles were registered under MH-12 plates, which is where Ranjangaon is located. The Grand Cherokee and Wrangler and due to be launched in India, in October, around the festive season.
The Jeep Wrangler will be the true off-roader crafted for the real enthusiasts who wishes to challenge any difficult terrain. The Wrangler will be priced at about Rs 20lakhs, as it will be a CBU in the initial stages. The Grand Cherokee will be launched along with the Wrangler.
However, it will cater to a different set of buyers, as it is luxury and off-roader. Something in between the Freelander 2 and the Discovery 4. The company is ready to introduce new Jeep brand in India, and also launch the Abarth Punto around the festive season.
All these vehicles will be sold through Fiat's new exclusive showrooms. The company has been going strong in terms of the new upcoming dealerships and the focus is to increase the network not just for sales, but even service. It was since 1st of April 2013, that the company split from Tata to create its new dealer network.
Currently, the company has the Grande Punto and the Linea in its fleet and soon we will see the Abarth Punto and the two Jeeps being added to the current showrooms.
