Remember, the now polpular Mahindra Verito was once upon a time linked with Renault. Not with Verito though, but we used to call it Mahindra Renault Logan back then. Looks like Renault is determined to revive its lost grip in the entry-level sedan segment with a brand new car with Renault underpinning. The helping hand for Renault to make this project a success are the designers to ZR.ru who gave a new look to the estranged Renault Logan to emerge with dazzling new looks. However, there are absolutely no details on the pricing or the engine specifications of the sedan, but the car manufacturer could look at Maruti Swift Dzire for an idea.

But, it doesn’t keep us from speculating if Renault will consider the same 1.5 L diesel engine that used to power the Mahindra Renault Logan? Back then, the auto giants Mahindra and Renault got almost everything correct right from the Renault Logan price. It must be the shabby looks of the car which did not go down well with the consumers. Whatever might be the reason, all is well at the end of the day. Mahindra and Mahindra has its own weapon in hand which has managed to make a place of its own in the industry with the new Mahindra Verito name. But, it is the French car manufacturer Renault who made a re-entry into the country as an individual player who felt the absence of an entry-level sedan in their product line-up.

Agreed that Renault Fluence is going some good numbers where sales are concerned, but the sedan is more of a premium offering from the car manufacturer. A mid-sized sedan with a decent price tag is what appeals to the Indian consumers. So, this could be a right step from the car manufacturer especially when it has Renault Pulse coming next month to fill its void in the hatchback segment in India. Now, there could be another doubt looming at the back of the mind. Does this mean Renault will not go ahead with its rebadged version of Nissan Sunny? Because there is no point if Renault offers two sedans within the similar price bracket around the same time.
