Just two weeks after the launch of Kwid, Renault has released the staggering booking number of 25,000 units that this small sized hatchback has received. Launched On September 24, this number is an all new record for the French manufacturer and could be a benchmark number for others like Maruti.
Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations, said, “The Renault KWID has created a huge excitement since its launch and we are thrilled with the response it has received just at the onset of the festive season. The Indian consumer has shown tremendous confidence and trust in Renault brand, the initial response has been very exhilarating and the bookings are constantly increasing. We are witnessing remarkable footfalls in dealerships across all regions since the launch of Renault KWID. The innovative Virtual Showroom and the Renault KWID app have received a tremendous response across India.”
The manufacturer has also said that they have seen an increased number of people personally visiting their dealerships across the country. The Kwid app has also witnessed an overwhelming number of downloads in India.
As know, that Renault shocked everybody with a starting price of INR 2.57 lacs that extended to 3.53 lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi). This was achieved by 98% of localization in India, thanks to this price it is now undercutting its every rival, both on the lower end variant front and top end variant front.
KWID is also the largest car of its segment on every aspect, be it the exterior dimensions, interiors space or boot space, it simply out-features its rival and a few more that belong to higher segment like the Alto K10.
Mechanically, it is powered by inline 3-cylinder 800cc engine that produces around 54 PS of power and 72 Nm of torque and while doing so it still manages to deliver 25.17 kmpl of mileage. power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-Speed manual transmission.
Apart from this, Kwid is offered with a plethora of customization options that will make it look different from other Kwids. And with this price bracket even if you opt for those optional customization pack it won’t push the price too high.
