Renault has released a new teaser image of the upcoming Kwid on their website and social media pages. The French automaker has declared its latest offering as “the most awaited car of the year”. The car looks particularly vibrant in the showcased red color scheme and it suggests that the car will hit the showrooms in the coming weeks. Renault Kwid price will probably fall in the range of INR 4.0-5.5 lakhs.
According to Renault, the Kwid illustrates the ‘Explore’ petal of Renault’s design strategy, a symbol that stands for dynamic performance, robust strength and a taste for adventure. The SUV-Crossover inspired design of the Kwid is a segment first.
The car will be priced at around 3-4 lac price bracket and will feature a crossover stance like that of the Duster. Expectations have been building around the possibility that this car might offer the best-in-class ground clearance. Renault showcased the Kwid with 13-inch steel rims, which are paired with wheel covers.
Recently, the Kwid was spied with Lodgy-Stepway like grille with abundance of chrome garnish and bigger alloy wheels. This makes it highly likely that Renault will launch a Stepway version of the Kwid.
Under the hood (quite literally), the Kwid features a 800cc engine, which is expected to be the most refined unit in its class. No official details have been released by the company, pertaining to the power plant, so exact specifications of the car still remain a subject of speculation.
Renault Kwid interior will get a touchscreen MediaNav infotainment system, another segment first. The car will also come with satellite navigation, like the Duster and the Lodgy. The car will also feature an all digital instrumentation cluster, which will feature a large central display for the speed and a side display for the fuel indicator along with the warning lights.
