Renault to invest 6.5 crore during Indian GP for promotion

Renault India has decided to spend a whopping amount of Rs 6.5 crore on marketing of its cars in India including its engines during the Indian Grand Prix Formula 1 race to be held from October 28^th at Buddh International Circuit near New Delhi. Len Curran, the VP of sales and marketing of Renault India had said that the marketing campaigns in association with Yahoo and some animations displayed at its showrooms will allow the people to participate and win an opportunity to watch the Grand Prix race.

The luxury car brand Renault India is said to display its Formula 1 car along with a range of engines produced by Renault. Apart from that, Renault will also host a few events at the malls and the winners will get the special invitation to the Formula 1 race. As for the other upcoming launches from Renault, the French brand envisages launching five models in India by the end of 2012. Among the slew of launches, a mini SUV Duster is on the cards. The India bound mini Duster is however likely to be different from the Dacia Duster model that sells in Europe.  But before that in one of the Grand Prix events, Mr Carlos Ghosn, the Chairman of Renault will unveil the 2012 hatchback by Renault India, which is expected to be launched in the Q1 of 2012.

Renault India had made its re-entry into the Indian market with the launch of its sedan car Renault Fluence in May this year. The diesel version of Renault Fluence sedan has is also going to be launched soon. Len Curran, who was in Pune during the Renault Koleos launch earlier this month, had said that the SUV had been received by the consumers with an overwhelming response. The Renault Twizzy was recently introduced in Europe, the production of which has majorly taken place at Renault’s Mumbai engineering design center.
