REVA is open to collaborate with other car makers

REVA Electric has said that it is open to undertaking contracts for production of electric cars of other companies. The company already has a tie-up with General Motors for the production of its latest electric car Chevrolet e-Spark. REVA is a Bangalore based electric car maker which is the only electric car maker based in India. It is a joint venture company between Maini Group and California based AEV LLC. 

Company is eying at license manufacturing which helps in sharing technology. For example, the license partnership with General Motors enables us to look at technology transfers. Over the time, we will definitely look at other players, said Deputy Chairman and Chief Technology Officer Chetan Maini, REVA. Though Mr maine cleared that at present, company is not in talks with any car maker besides GM with witch it is manufacturing Chevrolet Spark.

Now company is working towards moving to the next step, production. Today, the whole team's focus is at running the first relationship working, which is something very new, Mr Maine added. He Further said that the commercial production of the Spark model will start from the next year at GM's facility.
