Robert Bosch to establish global engine centre in India

Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Ltd (RBEI), the German engine maker, the leader in terms of auto mobile parts has now declared that it is establishing a centre for engine electronics in India, working with Diesel and Gasoline Systems of Bosch - Electronic Controls (DGS-EC) business unit.
As per the reports, the auto company is planning to increase the head count by more than 800 engineers in Coimbatore and Bangalore for the next two years and has invested Rs 30 crore on the expansion plans in the same time. The auto company is hoping to hire as many as 1700 engineers in 2011 which includes engineers hired for DGS-EC. The report states that India centre is expected to be the first global centre for DGS-EC working outside Germany. The report stated Walter Grote, Senior Vice-President, DGS-EC, said that it is difficult to run these many operations for one single centre. The company needs to spread its wings.
The report also reveals that as per Grote, explained the growth of the internal combustion engines. Even by 2020, when almost 100 million auto mobiles are speculated to be produced across world, only two to three million cars will be purely electric cars, and the rest will be hybrid cars which are a combination of electric motors and also an internal combustion engine. These auto mobiles will use Bocsh's electronic controls. It was being reported that at present almost 75 million cars are manufactured across globe and as per Grote, Bosch share 30 per cent auto market share in it.
