Renault Duster 4X4 has been the talk of the town for a while and a lot of speculations were there for the SUV, but today Mr. Sumit Sawhney, MD and CEO, Renault India ended all the speculations by confirming that the 4WD version of the car will hit the Indian market by year end. Mr. Sawhney confirmed the news in an exclusive interview with us.
Renault Duster is a product, which helped Renault to establish the brand in the country and the demand of the 4 wheel drive version of the car was there for a long time. Now, it's the right time to launch the 4X4 version of the SUV as the sales of the Duster is being affected by EcoSport and Terrano. The 4WD version of the car is already on sales in the European markets, where it is being sold under the Dacia Duster badge. There the 4WD version is available on both petrol and the 110PS diesel version of the car, but in India they might launch the car in the diesel version only. The 4X4 version of the Duster comes with a superior ground clearance of 210mm, which is largest in its segment. The 4x4 Duster will ignite a direct competition with the likes of Mahindra Scorpio, XUV500 and Safari Storme. It is early to comment about the pricing, but there will be a subtle difference between the two versions for sure.
