Skoda Launches the Third Generation of Superb in China

The Czech carmaker, ŠKODA, has launched the new cum third generation model of ‘Superb’ in China within four months of its launch in Europe. Employing MQB technology, the car has been worked upon to increase the safety as well as connectivity features. “The launch of the new ŠKODA Superb in our strongest individual market China is a key milestone for the brand, emphasising our growth claim in China,” says Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA Board Member for Sales and Marketing. “The new ŠKODA Superb is a demonstration of the increased emphasis the brand is placing on the design and emotionality of our cars. It is with this focus that we intend to win over new customers in China and further strengthen our position over the coming years.” ŠKODA is not a new name for China as the company has several factories (Shanghai Volkswagen) operational in the country like at Nanjing, Anting (Shanghai), Yizheng and Ningbo. With this opening, the automaker is planning to increase its sale to half a million units per year, in the world’s 2nd largest economy. ŠKODA Superb is already a hit in the Chinese market with the car’s previous model registering over 2 lakh unit sales.
