Skoda On Track For Kushaq Deliveries

It has already recorded over 2,000 orders and intends to execute customer deliveries on the promised dates

• Skoda launched the Kushaq on June 28 and also opened official bookings the same day.

• Deliveries of the 1-litre turbo-petrol variants will start from July 12 and of the 1.5-litre variants from August.

• The Kushaq is priced between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 17.59 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Skoda Kushaq’s bookings officially began the day its prices were announced, on June 28. However, its production had already begun a few weeks prior which should help the carmaker ensure timely customer deliveries of all units. The Skoda Kushaq has recorded over 2,000 orders in over a week. 

Skoda has already stated that deliveries will begin from July 12 while buyers of the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol variants will have to wait till August. The carmaker also said that buyers will be given an exact delivery date. With this buffer and the headstart in production, Skoda aims to maintain a steady stream of Kushaqs. This would, in turn, help keep the waiting periods quite low and give Skoda an advantage over rivals, the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, that attract long waiting times due to their popularity.

The Kushaq is offered in three trims with a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine as standard which gets the choice of 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The top-spec Style variant is the only one that is also available with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that offers the choice of a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG (dual-clutch automatic). 

Skoda’s entrant into the compact SUV segment in India is fairly well equipped. It features a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, LED lighting, cruise control, and a sunroof too. The Kushaq covers safety with up to six airbags, a rear parking camera, and a tyre pressure monitor while electronic stability control is offered as standard.

The Kushaq is priced between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 17.59 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, and Renault Duster as well as larger SUVs such as the MG Hector and Tata Harrier.
