The latest spy shots suggest the sedan will borrow multiple interior design cues from Skoda’s latest SUV, the Kushaq
-
The spied model gets a touchscreen system like the Kushaq, along with a two-spoke steering wheel and dual-tone interior.
-
It is seen with production-ready LED headlights and taillights, alloy wheels, and fog lamps.
-
Skoda will offer it with two petrol engines: a 1-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines.
-
It will be launched towards the end of 2021 and is expected to be priced from Rs 9 lakh to Rs 14.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
A few more spy shots of the upcoming Skoda Rapid successor (that could be called the Slavia) have surfaced online revealing more details of the sedan. The spied model is seen with production-ready LED headlamps and tail lamps, fog lamps, and alloy wheels. We even get our first look at the interior of the sedan.
Fourth-gen Skoda Fabia's interior
Inside, you can spot a dual-tone interior for the cabin and a two-spoke steering wheel as offered on modern day Skoda cars. Going by the image, the sedan’s cabin layout looks similar to that of the Kushaq’s thanks to a touchscreen system (likely a 10-inch unit) with AC vents positioned below it and climate controls further below. Besides, it also looks akin to the cabin of the fourth-gen Fabia, which was also revealed a couple of months ago. On a closer inspection, you can even spot Kushaq-like analogue dials for the instrument cluster. Other expected features include connected car tech, six airbags, and a sunroof.

Skoda will make use of the MQB-A0 IN platform for the Rapid successor and Kushaq is the first model in India to be based on the same. It will also share its engine options with the compact SUV: a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine (115PS/178Nm) with either a 6-speed manual or a torque converter and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit (150PS/250Nm) mated to either a 6-speed MT or a 7-speed DSG (dual-clutch automatic).
The upcoming Skoda sedan is expected to be launched towards the end of 2021 with prices ranging between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). Skoda’s compact sedan will rekindle its rivalry with the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, and Volkswagen’s Vento successor (Virtus).
