Suzuki has launched Ciaz’s twin in the Chinese market christened as Alivio. The Suzuki Alivio price starts at 84,900 Yuan and goes all the way to 1,21,900 Yuan (approximately Rs 8.64 - 12.44 lac). The sedan in China comes only with a 1.6-liter petrol engine unlike ours which is also offered with a 1.3-liter diesel along with a 1.4-liter petrol.
Adding on the changes in Alivio compared to Ciaz, the Chinese version gets chrome appliques around the front and rear fog lamps while the taillights gets different detailing along with subtle changes to overall exteriors. Speaking about the features, Alivio gets similar looking dashboard and is also equally loaded. But unlike ours, it also features an option of all-black interiors.
Moreover, Chinese counterpart also gets standard ABS+EBD+HBA along with dual-front airbags. Apart from these, in higher trims, Alivio is being offered with 6-airbags and a 7-inch ‘SmartPlay’ infotainment system with 6-speaker system. Unquestionably, Alivio is slightly premium offering compared to its Indian counterpart.
Talking about the engine, in contrary to Ciaz’s modestly powered 1.4-liter K-series motors, Suzuki Alivio is powered by a naturally aspirated G-Innotec 1.6-liter VVT petrol delivering 122 PS of max power at 6000 rpm and 158 Nm of peak torque at 4400 rpm. There are two transmission options available with the car viz. 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. Alivio's 1.6-liter petrol motor requires 5.3 liter to cover 100 km that equates nearly 18 kmpl.
