As expected, the lower-spec variants miss out on some of the essentials and most of the fun features are reserved for the most expensive variants only. Tata has noted this trend and the fact that customers aren’t always happy about it. So, the carmaker has decided to extend a customisation option for customers to pick a variant and add a few features to it as they’d prefer.
These features will be added at the factory production stage itself, giving the Altroz a ‘built-to-specification’ experience. Here are some of the factory customisation options that will be offered on the Altroz:
RHYTHM (over XE and XM)
This option pertains to the infotainment systems for the Altroz. For the XE variant, the Rhythm package adds the 3.5-inch display infotainment system with Bluetooth and 2 speakers, dual horn and remote key.
For the XM variant, it upgrades it to the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 4 speakers as well as the reversing camera along with the dual horn and remote key.
STYLE (over XM)
The style package, offered for the Altroz XM variant, will equip it with 16-inch stylised steel wheels, a contrast black roof, front and rear fog lamps, LED DRLs and body-coloured ORVMs.
LUXE (over XT)
This is likely for those who need every comfort feature Tata will offer with the Altroz. Most importantly, It adds a height adjustable driver’s seat to the premium hatch. The aesthetic upgrades include a leather wrapped steering wheel and gear lever, rear seat armrest, rear fog lamps, stylised 16-inch wheels and a contrast black roof to the specs of the Altroz XT. It also adds a satin chrome finish to the inside door handles.
URBAN (over XZ)
Even the top-spec Tata Altroz can be improved upon with factory fitted options offered in the Urban package. It includes features like body-coloured inserts around the air vents and the central console, body coloured ORVMs and a contrast black roof.
The exact prices for the variants and the custom options will be announced at the Altroz’s launch. For now, the premium Tata hatchback can be booked for Rs 21,000 and any factory customisation option on any variants increases the booking amount to Rs 31,000. The Altroz is expected to be priced between Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh at launch. It will take on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Toyota Glanza, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo.
