The Altroz is only the second offering in its segment to come with sunroof, and the only hatchback to offer it with CNG variants
Tata Altroz has just got the CNG powertrain option, which comes with some first-in-segment features, one of which is a sunroof, one of the most desired features in the market. Besides, Tata has introduced the sunroof feature across all engine options of the Altroz.

The sunroof variant of the Altroz starts at Rs 7.90 lakh from the mid-spec XM+ trim, which also means that the Altroz is the most affordable car in India to come with a sunroof. For reference, Hyundai offers the electric sunroof feature in the Asta and Asta (O) variants of the i20, prices for which start at Rs 9.04 lakh. Meanwhile, the Maruti Baleno (and Toyota Glanza, by extension) does not offer a sunroof at all.

As seen above, the petrol-powered Altroz has the most choices of the sunroof variants, out of all three powertrain options. Customers have to shell out an extra premium of up to Rs 45,000 for this feature over the corresponding variant. There is also a new top ‘XZ+ O S’ trim, available with the naturally aspirated petrol and CNG powertrains.

Altroz Engine Details
Tata offers the Altroz in four powertrain options: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (making 86PS and 113Nm), a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol (making 110PS and 140Nm), and a 1.5-litre diesel (90PS/200Nm). The same naturally aspirated engine is being offered with the CNG variants where the performance drops to 73.5PS and 103Nm. All are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, but only the regular petrol engine gets the 6-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT).
Overall Price Range & Rivals
Tata retails the Altroz in the price range of Rs 6.60 lakh to Rs 10.74 lakh. The premium hatchback rivals the Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza and Maruti Baleno.
