Tata Aria to get finishing touches at Jaguar-Land Rover

Tata Motors is all set to rock the SUV segment with its upcoming launch of Tata Aria. Tata Motors has been working on this model since quite some time. The new Aria is the crossover SUV model of Tata. Earlier, the concept model was displayed at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010 in January. Currently, certain sources have confirmed that to get some finishing touches, the new Tata Aria has been shipped to Jaguar Land Rover.

A statement from Tata Motors said that Tata Aria which has to be launched in 2010, blends the functionality and comfort of a mid-range MPV with the all terrain assurance and premiums of an SUV. Aria's unique design and construction makes it robust, elegant and comfortable. Aria will be the country’s first MPV with 4WD along with a 2.2L diesel engine generating 140 bhp. The new model is expected to have the price tag of about Rs. 12-14 lakh. It is expected that this new vehicle of Tata will be commercially available in the market before the end of this year. Some of the sources have also told that the most probable date for the launch of new Tata Aria is somewhere around the Diwali season.

Tata Motors plans to get it right in the first time. The new interiors of Tata Aria are being done by company’s British counterpart JLR. This includes 3D surround sound, dimming roof lamps, in-dash built in GPS, a state-of-the-art infotainment system etc. The model is also equipped with multifunctional steering wheel, dual air conditioning with automatic climate control and cruise control.
