  • The Electrified Modular Architecture platform will allow for maximum cabin space and high driving range.

  • Jaguar Land Rover will also enter into an Engineering Service Agreement (ESA) for the production of Tata Avinya.

  • The Avinya is expected to get a range of over 500km with ultra fast charging.

  • It can be priced north of Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be Tata’s entry into the global EV market.

The EV-specific arm of Tata Motors, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM), has entered a partnership with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR); both subsidiaries of Tata Motors have formed a partnership for sharing EV platform technology. Both companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will allow TPEM to use JLR’s Electrified Modular Architecture platform for the development of the Tata Avinya. Both subsidiaries will also enter into an Engineering Service Agreement (ESA) for the production of Tata’s upcoming EV.

What Is This Platform?

Tata Avinya Side

JLR developed the Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform for its future mid-size electric SUVs which will be entering the international markets from 2025 onwards. This platform is designed for pure electric vehicles which will allow them to maximise cabin space, and well-integrated propulsion systems including bigger battery packs, power management systems and fast charging speeds. All of it will result in improving driving efficiencies for increased range and sufficient performance.
