Earlier, the SUV had been displayed at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, as a concept and this is the same production version of the model which has now been unveiled in the country. Prior to its India launch, Hexa was spied near Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
Under the hood, Hexa holds the VARICOR 400 2.2 litre diesel engine, which is an update for the power supply and was proposed with the Tata Safari Storme, recently. This unit delivers an output of 153bhp and soars with a peak torque of 400Nm, that is the very leading edge of the segment. Besides the 6-speed manual; a GMPT sourced (General Motors Powertrain, a sector of General Motors Corporation) six-speed automatic transmission is also paired with the motor optionally. Moreover, the offering becomes more economical with the 4WD system and the drive-mode selector.
Tata Hexa reinstates Aria MPV for carrying the ‘Most Feature-Driven’ badge from the Tata lineup. It includes Projector headlamps with auto function, LED position lamps and large alloy wheels. Whereas the interiors, conjoin a new design for the leather seat upholstery which is further graced by the twin-needle stitching. The six-seat configuration with captain seats, improved dashboard, mood lighting, central AC vents, window shades, refreshed steering wheel and the inner door panel, are some of the other highlights of this vehicle. On the safety hand - 6 airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and Terrain Management System are very practical. The suspension settings can also be set to Automatic, Dynamic or Comfort options as well. This latest generation car from Tata’s stable is expected to get a price tag similar to the range of current Aria.
