Tata Motors has announced its future plans during their Investor Meet in which they have confirmed the launch of seven new nameplates by FY2030. This will include their next big launch – the Tata Sierra as well as the introduction of the first premium model under the Avinya sub-brand. They also intend to roll out notable updates to their existing lineup which would include facelifts, model-year updates, powertrain upgrades and more.
So, if you’re curious about what Tata Motors is up to next, we’ve detailed all of that below:
7 New Nameplates By FY2030
One of the most important updates within this announcement is the launch of seven new Tata nameplates by fiscal year 2030. Out of this, the carmaker has confirmed that three will be ICE offerings and four will be all-electric vehicles.
The first and most awaited launch amongst these will be the Tata Sierra, which is expected to arrive first in its ICE avatar followed by its EV version. The Sierra is making a comeback and its concept version was last shown at the Auto Expo 2025. It has also been spotted testing under camouflage on the Indian roads and is expected to hit roads later this year.
Following the Sierra, the next two nameplates will be the introduction of the Avinya sub-brand with the Avinya and Avinya X. Both will be positioned as premium electric offerings. The concept form of the Avinya X was also showcased at the Auto Expo 2025 and it sports a futuristic design with a unique SUV coupe bodystyle and many other modern design elements.
Tata Motors has also confirmed two completely new ICE nameplates and two new EV nameplates, details of which are yet to be revealed.
23 Facelifts And Refreshes
Tata has also confirmed as many as 23 updates to its existing lineup including models like Tiago, Tigor, Punch, Nexon, Curvv, and Harrier along with the electric versions as well as the Altroz and the Safari.
These 23 updates will include facelifts, model-year (MY) updates as well as special editions, all of which are intended to keep the vehicles relevant in the competitive market.
What’s In Store For The Remainder Of FY26?
The Tata Harrier EV is the latest flagship offering from Tata. What’s interesting in this announcement is that the carmaker has also confirmed that the ICE versions of the Harrier and Safari will get a powertrain update by FY2026. Both SUVs are expected to get the new 1.5-litre TGDi turbo petrol engine as part of this upgrade. Apart from that, we will also see the resurrection of the Tata Sierra nameplate, which is expected to be launched later this year.
It’s clear that Tata Motors does have an exciting lineup of cars down the road. Which one are you eagerly waiting for? Let us know in the comments.
