Tata Motors, the biggest commercial vehicle manufacturer stated that for now they are not planning to increase the prices of their commercial vehicles. Ravi Pisharody who is the President of Commercial Vehicle Business Unit in Tata Motors said that the company has no immediate plans to hike their products prices for now and rather they have safe margins maintained in their product which might result in cost reduction. Ravi Pisharody made this statement on the occasion of the Tata Winger Platinum launch in Mumbai.
He also admitted the fact that auto industry is going under increasing price pressure owing to rising input cost. He said that Tata Motors has continuous internal US targets for the purpose of cost reduction but still the continuous increase in commodity prices is laying big problem for them as cost reduction has become far more complicated.
From January 1st Indian Auto Market will be facing a hike in product prices as many auto manufacturers have planned to increase their product prices by 2 to 3 per cent. And owing to the this hike in January, the sales in the month of December 2010 will take a jump. People will go for purchase in December to save themselves from additional hike in next month. So December is the perfect month where one can purchase their favorite car. Car manufacturers from Japan i.e Toyota Kirloskar and Honda Siel Cars will be increasing the prices of their cars as Yen is going to gain a sharp appreciation in the month of January 2011. this appreciation will increase the cost of all the commodities resulting in higher selling prices.
Tata Motors being out of the line have shown no clue to increase the product prices and with that it has launched a new model in its Winger range named Tata Winger Platinum in Mumbai. This 7 seater luxury car is designed with exceptional styling and tremendous performance. The company showed great zeal in launching this hit model.
