Tata Now Offers Auto AC From Mid-Spec Altroz XT

Despite the feature addition, the price of the variant remains unchanged

The Altroz was launched back in January 2020 and at the time, the auto climate control feature was only available on the top-spec XZ and XZ(O) variants of the premium hatchback. The Indian carmaker is now offering the feature on the one-below XT variant as well.

What’s more, the Altroz has not undergone any price hike. The cost of the feature has been simply absorbed into the pre-existing price of the XT variant. For your reference, here are the prices which have remained unchanged since the launch of the car.

With the addition of auto climate control, the XT becomes an even better value-packed variant. It is also our recommended variant of the Altroz. It packs features like a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, control, passive keyless entry with push button engine start-stop, and 16-inch steel wheels. We recommend you go for the factory-fitted Luxe Pack that comes for a premium of Rs 40,000 and makes the XT a complete package with the addition of height-adjustable driver seat among other aesthetic extras. The Altroz is offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine (86PS/113Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (90PS/200Nm). Both engine options are only available with a 5-speed manual transmission for now.

The Altroz is a premium hatchback and competes with the likes of the Honda Jazz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Volkswagen Polo in its segment. Its attractive pricing also puts it against the Maruti Swift.
