It’s from this variant onwards that the SUV feels and looks more premium thanks to front LED fog lamps, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and a brown cabin theme
We now know almost everything that’s available about the new Tata Safari facelift, from its new features set to its powertrain option, save for its prices. With the midlife update, the carmaker has even revised its variant lineup (now known as ‘personas’), and is offering it in simpler-to-remember variant names: Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished. The Adventure trim also has three sub-variants: Adventure+, Adventure+ Dark and Adventure+A.
If you are planning to pick the 1-below-top Adventure variant of Tata’s 3-row SUV, here’s what it looks like:
Has More Visual Appeal
The new Tata Safari’s Adventure variant looks similar to the top-spec Accomplished trim. It gets the carmaker’s updated ‘Parametric’ grille with black embellishments, connected LED DRLs, and a chunky skid plate in the bumper. Tata has provided the Safari Adventure with LED front fog lamps and ‘follow-me-home’ function for the LED projector headlights.
In profile, the only major change is the provision of bigger 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels over the Pure variant. Other features such as black ORVM housings and the ‘Safari’ insignia on the front doors remain unchanged. At the back, the Safari facelift’s Adventure variant has the same connected LED taillights setup and the ‘Safari’ badging on the bootlid in a newer font.
The Adventure+ variant, on the other hand, gets automatic headlights functionality. If you pick the Adventure+Dark, it gets an Oberon Black exterior paint option, the ‘Dark’ badges on the front fenders, and 19-inch black alloy wheels.
Interior Gets An Upgrade Too
Tata has given the Safari facelift’s Adventure trim a tan cabin theme with brown upholstery. It continues with the same 4-spoke steering wheel as the Smart and Pure variants with the illuminated ‘Tata’ logo and the touch-based climate control panel. If you pick the Adventure+Dark variant, it has an all-black cabin theme with black seat upholstery.
A Wide Array Of Features
The updated SUV’s Adventure variant comes with dual 10.25-inch displays (one for infotainment and the other for instrumentation), push-button start/stop, multi-colour ambient lighting, height-adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, and cruise control. The rear occupants get window sunshades and an armrest with cupholders. If you pick the Adventure+ variant, it is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, an air purifier, and rain-sensing wipers.
Passenger safety on the Adventure variant is taken care of by six airbags, electronic stability programme (ESP), ISOFIX child seat anchorages, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a reversing camera. The Adventure+ variant gets a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and front parking sensors. While the rear wiper and washer have been provided from Pure trim onwards, the Adventure variant adds a rear defogger.
If you choose the Adventure+A variant, you get 11 features of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which include adaptive cruise control and driver-drowsiness alert.

Offered With Just A Diesel Engine
The new Tata Safari comes with a 2-litre diesel engine (170PS/350Nm), paired with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options (available from the Adventure trim onwards). The Adventure variant of the Tata Safari facelift comes with multi-drive modes (eco, city, sport) and multi-terrain modes (normal, rough, and wet) as well.
The automatic transmission variant of the Adventure+ variant also comes with paddle shifters.

When Will It Be Launched?
Tata is set to launch the facelifted Safari on October 17. Bookings are already open for the new Safari for Rs 25,000. We believe the new SUV would command a premium of up to a lakh over the existing model (priced from Rs 15.85 lakh to 25.21 lakh ex-showroom Delhi). It will fight it out with the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700.
