The Tiago EV’s base-spec trim is offered only with the smaller 19.2kWh battery pack
The Tata Tiago EV is available with two battery pack options. Tata is offering the electric hatchback in four trims, but the base-spec XE variant only gets the entry-level battery pack. Does it make sense to go for it?

Why Consider The Tiago EV XE?
Tata has provided the Tiago EV with body-coloured bumpers, automatic climate control, and a flat-bottom steering wheel with tilt adjustment. It also gets connected car tech features and the bare minimum safety kit. As the country’s most affordable EV, it could be your first step towards electric mobility on a tight budget. While the larger 24kWh battery pack offers a claimed range of 315km, the smaller 19.2kWh unit has enough juice to sustain for 250km.

Why Skip The Tiago EV XE?
The base-spec XE covers the basic safety feature requirements and only a few comforts but misses out on an infotainment unit altogether. It doesn’t even get body-coloured door handles and power windows (not even the front ones). Also, if you want the Tiago EV with the larger 24kWh battery pack, it’s not available with the XE trim.
