The all new Chevrolet Cruze might make its way to the 2016 Indian Auto Expo. The car will incorporate a new lineup of power plants and all new aesthetics. The all new premium sedan by Chevrolet will feature a 27% stiffer construction. The next-gen Cruze is designed to be relatively more aerodynamic as compared to its successor and features a lower drag co-efficient, which stands at 0.29cd.
The car found finds its foundation in Chevrolet’s brand new D2XX FWD platform, which also makes the car comparatively lighter when compared to its predecessor. The difference in weight is around 113kg which also results in an overall reduction of body-roll, enhanced handling characteristics, while at the same time without compromising with the comforts of the ride.
Let’s talk about the aesthetics. We have mixed feelings about the lady’s new look. Cruze has disowned the premium American saloon look and has opted for a more ‘Japanesey’ /Origami-esque styling. We are also not a fan of the skinny grill and badging, but it is understandable as Chevy might be aiming at a minimalistic approach to branding. Then again, the sharp design of the car is subjective and has a rather love-or-hate appeal to it. Other aesthetic updates include aggressive new bumpers, hexagonal air-intake, angled headlamps which incorporate LED DRLs, horizontal taillamps, redesigned fog lamps, etc. On the inside, the sean incorporates a 7” MyLink infotainment system, a larger MID screen and a three-spoke steering wheel.
