DC2’s remake of the Kia Carnival’s rear cabin lends it a business-class experience while being on the road
The Kia Carnival is quite a luxurious people-mover in its own right. Still, if you are looking for something even more upscale, then this interior modification by DC2 Design will be right up your alley.
The custom design house has completely redone the MPV’s interior, adding premium materials, nifty features, and most importantly, two wide sofa-like reclining seats -- all these coming together to give you nothing short of a business-class-like experience.
The Seats
DC2 is offering different levels of customization according to budgets and seats. In its top-spec version, the Carnival can be kitted with 23-inch wide recliner sofa seats with calf support, massage, and ventilation functions. These seats, which seem to be draped in expensive leather, can recline 150 degrees and slide forward and backward. With the calf-support up and the seat reclined all the way back, these can literally become a comfortable bed for one.
There are also two rear-facing seats that fold out, in case you need to seat more than two in the cabin. Now, these aren’t as luxurious as the primary seats, but they seem to be draped in leather and are wide enough to seat occupants comfortably.

Fridge-on-a-trolley
Between the two foldable seats, there is a recess that houses a 15-litre refrigerator. It slides out electrically, has space for cup holders, and can even convert itself into a table for four. When not in use, the entire unit neatly tucks away inside the recess, liberating space inside the cabin.
32-inch TV
There is a 32-inch television in the driver-passenger separation, facing the two primary passengers. You won’t be able to enjoy it if there are more than two people inside the cabin, as your line of sight will be blocked. However, with just two people on board, it can be used to watch a movie in a dimly lit environment or catch a game of cricket or football.

Lighting
Inside, you’ll find purple light emanating from around the AC vents, controls in the roof liner, and the side walls of the cabin. They lend the cabin a more upmarket feel. DC2 has also installed LED swivel lights that can be adjusted to throw light in a specific direction.
Electric Blinds
For privacy, DC2 has also installed power blinds in the rear cabin. These can be used by the touch of a button, and they also help block the sun out on hot summer days. They also allow you to cut out the ambient light during the day, just in case you want to catch a movie on the 32-inch screen.
What You Need To Know
The personalisation will take 25 to 40 days, depending on what you want. DC2’s Kia Carnival customisation packages start at Rs 9.80 lakh and go up to Rs 19.50 lakh. The design house makes no change to the car’s structure, keeping the vehicular weight exactly the same. Better, you don’t need any approval from the RTO for this kind of modification.
