The seven-times world champion, the Formula 1 Legend, who has participated in over 300 races in his 21 years of career, Michael Schumacher has today announced that he will be retiring by the end of the year, and it has happened right after Mercedes has signed Lewis Hamilton to replace him in 2013. Proving all the speculations wrong that Schumacher may take his career ahead with Sauber, he confirmed his final retirement. However, he believes that he can still do superb against best of the drivers available all around.
Addressing the press meet today in Suzuka he got a little emotional and said, "Let me start with a little clarification and announcement today. Obviously it concerns about my future, probably not a complete surprise, I've decided to retire at the end of the year. Although I'm still able and capable to compete with the best drivers that are around but at some point it's good to say goodbye and that's what I'm doing at the end of the season - and it might this time even be for ever!”
"During the past month I was not sure if I still had the motivation and energy which is necessary to go on. It is not my style to do something that I'm not 100% feeling for. "With today's decision I feel released obviously from those doubts and in the end my ambition to fight for victories and the pleasure of driving is nourished by competitiveness." He further adds,
Schumacher had taken a retirement from F1 in the year 2006 as well saying that he was not left with the energy to continue at the top level, but being out for three years from the track, Schumacher made his come back in December 2009 with Mercedes.
