Jaguar XE test mule has been spied fully camouflaged at the Nurburgring circuit doing test rounds. The new sedan hold its own space at the Jaguar Indian website and is scheduled to be launched in 2015 as per the website. The XE met the world for the first time at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, and is a brand-new model for the Jag and will compete against the entry level premium sedans namely, Audi A4, BMW 3s and Mercedes C-class.
The XE is the first Jaguar offering to be based on the new-aluminum architectures which will be carried over from the production version of the CX-17 crossover (showcased at the Indian Auto Expo'14). The XE sedan will feature first of the completely new Ingenium range of low friction, powerful and lightweight 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The company says that the upcoming vehicle will generate emissions lower than 100g of CO2 per km.
Speaking of the design, the new XE features resemblance with the Jaguar range like the XF and XJ. The rear features a chubby boot; the tail lights seems to be inspired by the XF. The spied car features dual exhausts; it could be the performance edition of the XE which is capable of reaching reach 300kmph as claimed by the company. The production version is likely to be showcased at the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October and will go on sale in 2015. Watch out Germans!
