Toyota India has now silently launched two new variants of its flagship sedan Corolla Altis- Altis J (S) Petrol and Altis J (S) Diesel and updated the details on the company's official website. The company has also discontinued the J base petrol trim of the car and has replaced it with the new one. The new variants J (S) Petrol and J (S) diesel are priced at Rs. 11.74 lakh and Rs. 13.16 lakh (prices are ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.
The new J (S) diesel is very similar to that of the base variant J diesel, however it now gets two additional airbags, a USB compatible touch screen display. While the new Petrol model gets manual HVAC, two airbags, USB compatible touch screen display and a rear armrest, making it more feature rich than the discontinued variant.
Since the new variants have just received new features, the car remains similar both mechanically and look-wise. The Altis J (S) diesel will continue to derive its power from a 1.4-litre motor, which produces the maximum power output of around 87bhp and 205Nm of torque. The new J (S) petrol too carries the same 1.8-litre 138bhp engine.
