Toyota India soon after launching the long awaited small car Toyota Etios Liva in the domestic market is all set to repeat the history with the overwhelming response which it received for its sedan Toyota Etios last year in December. Toyota Etios Liva within meager three days of its launch has already clocked a staggering 1000 bookings. The company is expecting the booking numbers to rev up in the coming time.

The company forayed into the hatchback segment in India and looking at the stupendous response it has received it seems that it is going to give the rest of the small cars a run for their money. Though there are a mixed reviews amongst the car aficionados regarding the Toyota Etios Liva price, some of them think that it is overpriced but on the contrary this small wagon has managed to woo the customers over the other small cars present in the  hatchback segment. Etios Liva has ample of space compared to its rivals adding on to its brownie points.

If Toyota Etios Liva follows this trend it surely is going to give nightmares to the wizard of small car segment Maruti India which until now has ruled the hatchback segment with variety of hatchbacks it offers. Maruti India of late suffered loss due to the workers strike at its Manesar plant which led to delay in the launch of the upgraded version of its popular hatchback Maruti Swift. Now with Toyota Eyios Liva in the market this could attenuate Maruti India's sales as the customers may opt for Toyota's new offering over Maruti cars. Apart from that Chevrolet Beat Diesel is all set to rock the India auto market in July and looking at the soaring petrol prices it could be a game changer for General Motors India.

This should be taken into account that Toyota India has not launched the small car in all the states in India and yet it has received  excellent response. The company was well prepared this time and it had manufactured 11000 car units of Toyota Etios Liva in order to avoid long waiting period like its sedan Toyota Etios. It is worth giving a thought that if the company introduces a diesel variant of the hatchback the sales number can accelerate to double, it can play role of a catalyst in the Toyota India car sales.
