Toyota organized 'Toyota Safety Education Programme' in Delhi

Toyota Kirloskar Motor, a subsidiary of Japan based Toyota Motors today organized a Toyota Safety Education Programme (TSEP) at the Delhi Police Public School, Safdar Jung Enclave, New Delhi. The TSEP is basically a programme to educate young students on road safety. The programme has been specially designed for the school children of age group of 6-12 years.

Toyota started TSEP as a pilot project in year 2007 in Bangalore and in year 2008 company organized it across major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. The programme was inaugurated in Delhi by the Honorable Chief Minister of the state, Mrs. Sheila Dikshit. After that company organized it in 28 schools in Delhi and 117 schools in total in Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore. The company managed to reach out over 2,30,000 school children in these cities in past 3 years through this programme. Toyota is also planning to extend this programme to other cities of India including some tier 2 cities.

The main objective of the programme was to create an awareness about traffic safety amongst school children. Not only school children but their teachers also trained in Traffic Safety Education through a one day training programme.
