Toyota to dole out special offers on Etios twins to celebrate first anniversary

It’s been about a year that Toyota Motors launched Toyota Etios sedan in India. Toyota Etios came into the country with an entry level offering in the sedan segment of the Indian car market. This launch was followed by introducing a hatchback car, known as Toyota Etios Liva. Both the models were pretty victorious in doing a decent business but sadly neither of the two cars managed to gain that ground breaking success. Clearly, Toyota Etios and Toyota Etios Liva had a massive competition, which comprised of Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors, which didn’t allow Toyota to capture the Indian car market substantially.

However, the sales of Etios twins are slightly better than Volkswagen and Skoda. Toyota Motors India is on the verge of celebrating the first anniversary of Etios twins by offering some special offers. According to these offers, Toyota dealers will proffer the consumers with free accessories of worth Rs. 10,000 on both Toyota Etios sedan and Toyota Etios Liva hatchback. But alas! The offer is valid only on the petrol version of the cars. Another offer by the Toyota dealers is that customers can get their Etios twins insured just by paying Re.1. All these proffers are expected to give a big bounce to the sales of Toyota Etios and Liva considerably.

Despite of clocking meager sales in the month of November 2011 , Toyota mulling to raise the prices of its cars from 1st of January 2012. Specially the sales of the petrol models have hit rock bottom. This is surely a very risky move by Toyota. Raising prices of its cars raises the chances of consumers to divert towards other car makers. However, Toyota is trying to make up with offers and bids that are being provided to the consumers this year. Hopefully, this will help the firm in boosting up its car sales significantly.
