Toyota to recall 4,36,000 units of its hybrid vehicles

Toyota Motors the most news gathering car maker these days, though not for good reasons is reported to call-back 4,36,000 hybrid vehicles worldwide and this includes the newly launched 2010 Prius model. According to reports Toyota issued a recall filing of 223,068 cars in its Domestic market Japan which includes four of its hybrid models Toyota Prius, Prius PHV (plug-in hybrid), SAI and Lexus HS250h. Though among these 4 hybrid cars, the Toyota Prius model will be recalled in Highest numbers (199,666) units.

Besides this Toyota Motors will recall about 213,000 hybrid cars outside its domestic market which includes 1,50,000 in North America as per the news reports. Toyota motors is struggling with repairs of around 5 million vehicles which it has recalled in US market due to complains like slipping floor mats and which in turn could trap gas paddles.

Toyota Motors is facing a tough time after some accelerator related issues surfaced in its models in US market. Now, the reports of a possible recall of Prius model by the company in US and Japan market added fuel to the fire. Toyota Motors, which is known for its quality and safety oriented manufacturing had become worlds largest automaker (by replacing GM) in year 2008. Company has to recall around 8 million vehicles sold in US market due to an erring accelerator and now company received complains about a problematic braking system in its popular Hybrid model, Toyota Prius. Though the 2010, Toyota Prius model is not part of any previous recall by the company.
