Upcoming cars in India in the month of August

This August is going to be busy, especially the automotive industry. The auto makers are gearing up for their respective new car launches in India to ensure their success by planning well ahead and have started campaigning to lure the customers in their direction. Although there had been substantial number of car launches which had taken place during June –July, some of the most-awaited car launches are due next month. Odds are that, we all are going to witness a buzzing auto market in India next month not just with the upcoming cars that are going to be introduced, but hopefully with remarkable increase in the sales front as well.

We have the new car take-offs lined-up, beginning with the new Audi A6, new Honda Jazz, new BMW X3, new Maruti Swift, new Volkswagen Jetta and Force One SUV. The interesting part is all the anticipated car launches are the 2011 versions of the existing car models, except the Force One SUV. Speculations are also high that Skoda India is mulling over the probability of launching Skoda Fabia Scout in the month of August, but nothing has been proclaimed officially by the company. Apart from that Nissan is all set to raise the curtain off its sedan Nissan Sunny on August 3rd. The Japanese auto major may also change the name of the sedan for the Indian car market.

The wholly-owned Volkswagen subsidiary, Audi is known for their striking car models with marked grace and beauty. The new Audi A6 is no less with dynamic appearance that unlocks new horizons to define its character. The new Audi A6 experience makes one feel right at home, is what Audi cars claim. The new Audi A6 official launch will take place on August 3rd of this year. The new Audi A6 is expected to hit the market with 80 kg lighter version and borrowed good looks from Audi A8. This premiere sedan promises above par performance, stylish looks, safety and environmental responsibility. The upgraded sedan will be available in the market in four versions with two petrol engines of 2.8 FSI and 3.0 supercharged TFSI engines. The 2.0 TDi engine will drive the diesel variant and another variant will be powered by a Quattro engine. The refreshed sedan will have the engine start stop mechanism and seven-speed dual clutch gearbox. The new Audi price is hoped to be around Rs 30-Rs 40 lakhs.

The Japanese auto major Honda Motor is all set to revamp its hatchback Honda Jazz. The hatchback has not been a major success, which is not unknown to the public and the Honda Motors has given their best shot in the makeover of the Honda Jazz. The new Honda Jazz is expected to be launched in the month of August, however the launch date has not been announced yet. The changes in the new Honda Jazz are made for better performance and added good looks. The 1.2 litre i-VTEC engine is also conditioned to provide a better mileage. The new Honda Jazz price is also expected to be sliced down from its current price and likely to be around Rs 5.99 lakhs.

Another German auto maker BMW will be rolling out the refreshed version of BMW X3. BMW X3 crossover is a combination of luxury, dynamism and style with its macho good looks. The new BMW X3 is most awaited and is expected to be launched on 25th of August. This new crossover is apparently a major deviation from its current version and is reported to have borrowed its looks from BMW X5. The new BMW X3 will be available in the market in both petrol and the diesel engine. The petrol variant xDrive25i will be equipped with 2.5 litre six-pot engine giving a maximum power of 210 Bhp, maximum torque of 246 Nm and a maximum speed of 210 kmph. The diesel variant xDrive20d will house a 2 litre turbo diesel engine generating 180 Bhp maximum power output and 350 Nm peak torque. The maximum speed for the diesel variant will be 200 kmph. The new BMW X3 price is expected to be around Rs 41.2 – Rs 42.2 lakhs.

India's largest auto maker Maruti is also keen at launching the retouched version of the most popular hatchback made under its badge Maruti Suzuki India on August 17th. Maruti had launched the current Maruti Swift way back in 2005, and with its beauty and elegance that can put even the top of the line car models to shame. Maruti India, obviously hadn’t thought of its makeover until now, and after six years, the company has come up with its latest version of Maruti Swift to be launched on August 17th, this year, to delight the customers. At a single glance, one might not be able to find a noted difference in the two models, and why change it if it is good enough is basically the idea of Maruti India. The Maruti Swift success had been predominantly due to its good looks and there is no sense, if the gist is changed. The new Maruti Swift will be available in the market in both petrol and diesel variants. The new Maruti Swift will be installed with 5-speed manual transmission. The new Maruti Swift is also expected to be lighter than the current model, in addition to the few changes than have been done to provide a refreshed look to its already enchanting looks. The new Maruti Swift price is likely to be higher than its antecedent. The new Maruti Swift will be available in seven variants and claims to provide a promising fuel economy of 21.5 km/L for the petrol engine and 25.8 km/L for the diesel variant.

The German car maker Volkswagen has officially confirmed the launch date of its new Volkswagen Jetta on August 17th of this year. The Volkswagen India claims that the Volkswagen Jetta is changed to look more sophisticated, sportier and more aggressive than ever before. The new Volkswagen Jetta now looks more impulsive with exterior signal mirrors, keyless access with button start and stop, longer in length, laser seam welding are to mention a few changes among others. The new VW Jetta will be equipped with 1.8 L TSI petrol engine and 2.0 L Diesel engine. The new Volkswagen Jetta, a premium sedan is expected to compete with Skoda Laura, Toyota Corolla Altis and Honda Civic.
