Mihir Dharkar, the rookie Polo R Cup driver from Mumbai, is close behind with 48 points, followed by Saif Mir from Delhi with 34 points. The first qualifying session of this season proved to be a closely contested affair for Polo R Cup fans. Qualifying started on a lightly damp track with rain tyres being used for the Race Polos. Vishnu was quick to stamp his authority by claiming his pole position on his first lap out. In what promises to be an exciting season ahead, three Polo R Cup rookies qualified in the top 5, impressing onlookers. Race day turned out to be a great day with slick tyres being used for better grip on the dry track. Vishnu proved his mettle by winning both the races. In Race 2 Alisha Abdullah started from the pole position owing to the reverse grid rule for the top 8 finishers of Race 1. She fought hard to keep the lead for almost 10 laps before Vishnu and Mihir closed in on her to steal the limelight. Spectators were witness to brilliant display of skill by Vishnu and Mihir, who muscled their way up from 8th and 7th on the grid to 1st and 2nd positions respectively.
