Volkswagen Beetle and Volkswagen Touareg to setp in India

Indian car lovers will be blessed with two launches in the month of December, 2009. According to initial reports, Volkswagen is going to launch its Volkswagen Beetle and Volkswagen Touareg in India on December 5. The Volkswagen Beetle will be a small car while Volkswagen Touareg is a SUV that is expected to be priced at Rs 55 lakh. Whereas Volkswagen Beelte may come around Rs 22 lakh. The Volkswagen Beetle might sports a 2 litre petrol engine that belts out 113 bhp of power. The car will be equipped with climate control and airbags and other safety features. On the other hand, Volkswagen Touareg comes loaded with a 3 litre V6 diesel mill which churns 240 bhp of peak power and feature a six-speed automatic transmission with the DSG system. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X is also slated for launch in India.
