After the recent imports of the new VW Beetle units, for the purposes of homologation, it has become evident that the car is due for a launch in India very soon. Recently, official images of the car were released by the company and now the product brochure of the all new Volkswagen Beetle has been leaked online. The brochure provides key insights into some of the important features and specifications of the car. The new VW Beetle features the classic retro styling carried forward from the original people’s car, commissioned to be built by Adolf Hitler himself and designed by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche.
The updates on the new VW Beetle includes bi-xenon headlamps with LED DRLs, new alloy wheels, spoiler, bumpers and taillight cluster. On the interior front, the car receives an infotainment system with 8 speakers, AUX, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, panoramic sunroof, an all-new steering wheel, dual-zone climate control system, keyless entry, split folding rear seats and auto dimming interior lights.
The car also comes with a plethora of safety features, which include ABS with EBD, side airbags, ASR, ESC, EDL, EDTC, rain sensing wipers, brake pad wear indicator, automatic headlamps, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, amongst others.
In India, the car will feature a 1.4-litre TSI turbocharged petrol motor under the hood, which is capable of belting-out 147PS when coupled to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The car will rival the likes of Mini Cooper S and might be priced around Rs. 30 lacs.
