Volkswagen India Posts 8 Percent Rise in January 2016

Volkswagen India has recorded an 8 percent growth in monthly sales, for January 2016. The Indian arm of the German carmaker sold 4018 units in January 2016 as compared to 3734 units retailed in the corresponding month of the previous year.
Michael Mayer, director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Starting this year on a positive note, we are very happy to announce an increase in monthly sales for Volkswagen Passenger Cars for January 2016. We attribute this success to a consistent overall performance of our highly popular carlines, the Polo, Vento and Jetta, supported by an encouraging response to the recently launched 21st Century Beetle. With a pipeline filled with highly anticipated, performance-driven products, we look forward to a successful year ahead.”
Few days back, the carmaker introduced a host of exciting new features to the Polo and Vento. The cars now feature rain sensing wipers, auto dimming IRVM, phone book/SMS viewer, mirror link connectivity and dynamic touch screen infotainment system. Prices start at INR 5.23 lac (ex-showroom Mumbai) for the Polo and Rs 7.70 lac (ex-showroom Mumbai) for the Vento.
At the auto expo, Volkswagen has showcased its entire portfolio, including the latest Ameo compact sedan. Eighth generation Passat with plug-in hybrid tech, the Passat GTE and Tiguan SUV has also been displayed at Volkswagen’s section.
