Volkswagen India to Re-Launch Beetle on December 19, 2015

Volkswagen Beetle will be available only in a fully loaded trim with 1.4-liter TSi turbo petrol motor and will compete with Mini Cooper S, Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione along with Mercedes-Benz A-Class and BMW 1 Series
After a brief discontinuation, Volkswagen will re-introduce the Beetle in the Indian market on December 19th. The bookings for the new Beetle have begun almost a month ago with a booking amount of Rs 1 lac. It will be delivered through existing dealership of the VW in the country and will cost in the vicinity of Rs. 30 lacs as it will be a CBU (Completely Built Units) import.
The new Beetle will be pulled by VW’s 1.4-liter TSI - turbocharged petrol engine mated to a 7-speed DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission. The motor generates 150 PS. Moreover, the car rides on 205 / 60 cross-section R16 alloys wheels and comes with auto start-stop system & brake energy regeneration. Besides, it also gets standard 6-airbags, hill-hold function along with ESC (Electronic Stability Control), ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation), EDL (Electronic Differential Lock) and EDTC (Engine Drag Torque Control).
Speaking of the features, it offers touchscreen infotainment system with 8 speaker system, Bi-Xenon headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), LED taillamps, panoramic sunroof, auto rain and light sensors, cruise control, front seats with height adjustment and lumbar support along with heating option, etc. The ORVMs offered will be power-adjustable, foldable and heated.
