Volkswagen sells 5397 units in June 2011

The Volkswagen brand sold 5397 cars in the month of June, a growth of 166 percent over 2032 cars  sold in June 2010.  Hatchabck Volkswagen Polo and the sedan car Volkswagen Vento continue to be the backbone for the brand with a total of 5,136 units sold in June 2011.

The recently launched its sedan Volkswagen Passat with BlueMotion Technologies also saw an impressive response from customers with 197 units sold in June 2011. Mr. Neeraj Garg, Member of Board & Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said “Despite the current slowdown in the market due to recent hikes in both fuel prices and lending rates, we have fared pretty well in the current month thanks to the strong product line up that we have in the market.”
