Speculations are galore that Volkswagen might be crowned as the number one auto brand accounting for the highest sales by the end of this fiscal. On the contrary, its Japanese counterpart Toyota has skirmished to keep the tempo up in the competitive car market after the cataclysm in their home country in the month of March. Since then speculations were high that Toyota would lose its top position in terms of sales in 2011. General Motors is expected to bag the second position after Volkswagen. It is expected that the German auto major Volkswagen will see a rise in its sales growth by 13 percent by the end of this year whereas GM is expected to witness 8 percent in terms of sales.

Toyota has also a revamped version of Innova MPV in the queue. On the other hand Volkswagen is promoting its products very aggressively. VW Polo shares the never ending rivalry with Maruti Swift. Worthwhile VW’s subsidiary Skoda auto is also in the competition for the same piece of cake.
