Volkswagen to intensify dealership in India

Volkswagen came to India a little while ago but has definitely engraved a name for itself in India. Though the Indian buyers have to wait for a long time to get there hands on Volkswagen cars especially Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Vento. However, the German auto giants are confident that the waiting list signals the popularity of the cars. As per the top official from the company, he wishes to expand on the dealerships network to increase the visibility before the German auto company in the domestic auto market.
The German auto brand changed its global strategy by introducing the hatchback and the entry level sedan. After the launch the company has been able to acquire three top positions in the domestic auto market.
Ulrich Hackenberg , member of the Supervisory Board of Management at Volkswagen AG and technical development head said that India is a key auto market for the company. German craftsmen is also looking forward to increase its dealerships in India. He also revealed that Volkswagen will launch Volkswagen UP the brand new small car by September globally. However, for the Indian auto market it will be quite expensive. He mentioned that the Volkswagen Up has been developed by keeping the emerging markets in mind, but still can not stamp on the cars availability in India. He ushered that in Geneva Motor Show the auto company exhibited Volkswagen Bulli which is suitable for the Indian auto market.
When quizzed about the future development of the company in India, Mr Hackenberg replied that presently the company has its stamp on different segments in India and for the same it is expecting a 20 per cent share in it. He said that India by 2018 is likely to develop 4 million auto market, however, the German's wish to ensure right quality and standards for the same. The company's global sales accelerated by 16 per cent for January and February for this year, but India showed more promising figures in the same period. He also revealed that due to production limitations the auto giant will not introduce any new car in India. The production unit in Pune will require an expansion if a new mass car is introduced.
