The facelifted Vento shares some of its updates with the new Polo of course, which includes the refreshed tail lamps, new front grille design with the honeycomb mesh, new rear diffuser and new side skirts. Meanwhile, the cabin remains the same with the addition of Volkswagen Connect features via a dongle.

Volkswagen has introduced a new GT Line variant for the Vento which gets sportier front and rear bumpers with a dual-tone exterior that features a black roof, black ORVMs, rear spoiler and GT Line badges. This compact sedan still gets the same range of petrol and diesel powertrains with both manual and automatic transmission options.

The petrol options remain the same 1.6-litre and 1.2-litre turbocharged engines, both producing 105PS of power. While the naturally aspirated engine is available with a 5-speed manual only, the TSI engine is only offered with the 7-speed DSG automatic. The 1.5-litre diesel engine still makes 110PS and 250Nm and is available with both 5-speed manual and 7-speed DSG auto.

Even though there haven’t been any cabin updates, the Vento still comes well equipped. The highlights of the feature list include cruise control, upto 4 airbags, auto AC with rear vents and full LED headlamps. It gets dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, speed alert and front seatbelt warning as standard.

Volkswagen is looking to improve the cost of ownership of its vehicles too. The carmaker is now offering a 5-year warranty as standard for all its diesel offerings. All other models still get the 4EVER care package that offers 4-year/1 lakh km warranty and road-side assistance with 3 free services. Volkswagen also announced that it will be offering an extended warranty package with upto 7 years coverage.

The 2019 Vento continues its rivalry against the likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, Toyota Yaris and Maruti Ciaz.
