How does the interior space in the newly launched Hyundai Venue stack up against its opposition?

    • The EcoSport is the longest and tallest SUV on the list and also offers the most boot space.

    • The XUV300 is the widest SUV and has the longest wheelbase too.

    • Your legs will be the most comfortable in the first row of the EcoSport.

    • It is the easiest to seat three people in the second row of the Vitara Brezza and XUV300.

    • The Venue offers the tallest seat back in the second row.

Hyundai recently launched the Venue in India, posing a serious challenge to the monopoly that the Vitara Brezza enjoys in the sub-4 metre SUV segment. Today we are comparing which SUV in this segment offers the most amount of space inside the cabin -- the Venue or its competitors, the Vitara Brezza, Nexon and EcoSport.

Before we dive into their interior dimensions, let us first have a look at how they measure up from the outside.

The Nexon offers the most headroom in the first row while the EcoSport offers the most legroom. The most amount of kneeroom on offer is also in the EcoSport while the best under-thigh support can be had in both the XUV300 and EcoSport. The XUV300 has the tallest seatback and thus taller passengers will fit more comfortably in its seats. The Venue here is just about average in various parameters; it doesn’t excel or fall too short compared to rivals.

The Nexon offers the most amount of headroom in the second row as well, and thus taller passengers will be the most comfortable here. The Hyundai Venue also offers identical headroom to the Nexon. The Vitara Brezza offers the most shoulder room while the XUV300 has the widest seat base. It will be relatively easier fitting three adults in the second row of these SUVs. The Nexon has the longest seat base and would thus offer the best under thigh support. The Venue has the tallest seat back and hence taller passengers will be most comfortable in its second row.
