A Brazilian version of Ford’s flagship hatchback images are here. Does this mean, Ford India could launch a revamped version here in India sometime in 2012? Well, we have to wait and see for that. But, the images here of the new Ford Figo show a similar overall body structure with some changes in the features carried on the exteriors. The headlamps on the Brazilian version look slightly sharper, though retaining the basic Kinetic Ford design, but with more angular look. Fog lamps in this version are clearly a deviation. The changes are more prominent in the rear side of the car.

The black contrasting bumper is replaced with a body colored bumper. However, we have to wait until we hear from the horse’s mouth if this makeover is going to make it to India any time soon. Ford India had introduced a minor facelift only last month. Though not much in the engine department, the Ford Figo facelift was more on the features side. An entire new variant was introduced, an optional variant of the EXi that is in petrol and diesel trims to take the number of variants offered to 10. A Bluetooth enabled stereo can be traded for an additional amount over the EXi variant in the new EXi (O) variant. Then the usual ZXi and top-end Titanium variants are endowed with few more features like the USB port, alloy wheels replacing the steel in the center and tilt steering.

Ford Figo has always been a best-seller in India offered in both 1.2 L petrol and 1.4 L diesel engine. The Ford Figo price of Rs 3.70 lakhs for the base variant has been one of the top-selling point for the hatchback. The auto major probably believed in-' why change it when it isn’t spoilt' and left the high performing engines untouched. However, the lack of a few essential features which the contemporaries had, has made the auto major introduce an upgraded version with an additional cost of Rs 18,000 on the Titanium variant.
