The Mini version of Xylo has been recently spotted with heavy camouflaging in Chennai. The new camouflage rendered is a stripped black and white pattern which makes the car look like a zebra. This heavy camouflaging could have been done in order to keep the finer details of the car from being spotted by the car aficionados. Code named as U203, Mahindra Xylo mini is doing test runs for the last two years during which the car has undergone a lot of changes in the appearance as well as the specifications.
The engine whistling under the hood could be the three cylinder diesel engine which the experts and followers of the industry have named ‘grown up Wagon R’. This engine could pump out a power of 70 BHP and a torque of 160 Nm in the Mahindra mini Xylo. This new Xylo has been named mini because of its length, which is less than four meters. To render this car a hint of adventure and outdoorish feel, the spare wheel has been mounted on the rear end of the car which has been supplied with an entirely new design philosophy.
The early test versions of the cars were spotted with a third row formed by two jump seats. If this seating arrangement makes it to the final product then Mahindra Xylo mini could become India’s first 7-seater compact MPV. Word is, the maker of power-packed Mahindra XUV 500, will be rolling out the mini Xylo before Diwali this year. The Mahindra mini Xylo could be the new entry level car in Mahindra’s portfolio which also has Renault, REVA and future Ssangyong cars.
