The Mahindra BE 6e will be globally unveiled on November 26 and is expected to arrive in India by October 2025. It is likely to be priced from Rs 24 lakh (ex-showroom).

What features is the Mahindra BE 6e expected to get?

The Mahindra BE 6e is expected to be a modern and feature-rich EV by the carmaker. It is likely to have a dual integrated screen setup (one for the touchscreen infotainment system and the other for the driver’s display) and a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo. It can also get multi-zone AC, a wireless phone charger, and a premium audio system.

What seating options will be offered with the BE 6e?

It will be offered in a 5-seater configuration.

What powertrain options can the BE 6e have?

The details of the powertrain will be revealed after it is unveiled but Mahindra had earlier stated that the BE 6e is based on the INGLO platform. This platform can accommodate batteries ranging from 60 kWh to 80 kWh, offering a claimed range of up to 500 km. It can be adapted for front-wheel-drive (FWD), rear-wheel-drive (RWD), and all-wheel-drive (AWD) systems. The rear-wheel-drive models could produce up to 285 PS, while the AWD models could deliver up to 394 PS.

As per Mahindra, this platform will support fast charging of up to 175 kW and can charge from 5-80 percent in 30 minutes. 

How safe will the BE 6e be?

Mahindra claims that The INGLO platform on which the BE 6e will be based on has been built keeping a 5-star Global NCAP crash rating in mind. However, we will have to wait for the EV’s crash test to come to a conclusion.

In terms of safety, it is likely to have six airbags (as standard), an electronic stability program (ESP) and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). We expect it to get advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) tech such as lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning, and adaptive cruise control.

What are the alternatives to the Mahindra BE 6e?

The Mahindra BE 6e will rival the Tata Curvv EV and the MG ZS EV, as well as the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.
