This company has been winning hearts since its inception into the automobile world in 1967. Hyundai started its journey in the Indian car market in 1996 and has received accolades and feats for the cars that it has been producing. It would be wrong to question about the success of Santro and Santro Xing as these cars have been huge success of their time. It was only after the success of these cars that Hyundai came up with another hatchback, i10 and it was not surprising because Hyundai i10 also received recognition and a response of public at large just as its other two hatchbacks did. The production plant that manufactures Hyundai i10 in India is located in Chennai. Hyundai i10 was recognized as the ‘car of the year’ in 2008. The instrument/gadget panel also looks quite good because of the presence of electronically adjusted Tachometer , fuel indicator, gear shift indicator, trip meter and odometer which gives a good feel while riding the car.

Engine & Performance

The 1.1L iRDE (intelligent responsive drive engine) comes with a displacement of 1086cc which churns a maximum of 68bhp@5500rpm and maximum torque of 99Nm@4500rpm. This 4 cylinder type engine has a total of 12 valves in it that helps in burning fuel efficiently. With a fuel tank capacity of 35litres Hyundai i10 D LITE offers a very good mileage of 12kmpl in city and 16kmpl on highways. The presence of low fuel warning lamp helps in indicating as to when the fuel will get over.

Braking & Handling

The front wheels come packed with ventilated disc brakes whereas rear wheels come with drum brakes. The front suspension is of the type Mc Pherson Strut with Coil Spring whereas the rear suspension is of the type Coupled Torsion Beam Axle with coil spring. Hyundai i10 D LITE comes with an electronic power steering that allows the driver a comfort and a smooth handling.

Safety Features

The presence of engine immobilizer ensures safety of the passengers to a great extent. It prevents the car from getting hot wired in various situations. The powerful ventilated disc brakes at the front ensure proper deceleration in some conditions. The rear seats can be folded so if the front passenger feels like sleeping he can do the same by stretching his front passenger seat. One need not adjust the mirrors from outside because they are internally adjustable. Height adjustable front seats make the journey much more comfortable.
