Mahindra Verito better known as ‘Poor Man’s sedan’ has been doing pretty well in the Indian car market since the time it has been introduced in the country. Mahindra & Mahindra made a smart move and launched this one in both diesel and petrol variants. Mahindra Verito 1.4 G4 BSIII is the second petrol variant in the range, which has been developed keeping in mind the basic needs and requirements of an Indian consumer. The roomy and spacious interiors have been coupled with decent exteriors that help the car to climb up a notch. The technical features of this one have also been maintained so much that it manages to deliver good power and mileage figures. Under the hood of Mahindra Verito 1.4 G4 BSIII, you will find 1.4-litre 8V MPFI petrol engine, which comfortably produces peak power output of 75bhp along with generating 110Nm of maximum torque. The engine being coupled to 5-speed manual transmission makes the car drive steady and very smooth. Even the mileage figures delivered by the car are not disappointing. Mahindra Verito 1.4 G4 BSIII comes with sporty and pretty exteriors. The car has a bit of a geometrical shape that makes it appear sportier and athletic. The front profile of the car is a bit boxy, but features like its headlamps, smooth bonnet and chrome finished grille provide it a better appearance. The fresh looking bumper is accompanied by huge front air dams, which enhances the front façade of the car. The rear part of the car model has trendy tail lights along with less bulky bumper, and crisp creases that amplify the boot lid and compliment the tail lights even more. On the side of it, the car has body colored ORVMs along with body colored door handles and black finished side cladding. The wheel arches are shaped nicely minus the alloy wheels.

Interiors

When you step inside Mahindra Verito 1.4 G4 BSIII, the first thing that you notice is the dual tone dashboard that provides a very rich and elegant look. The central console is much cleaner and the window switches are available on the door pads for the convenience. The AC vents are styled well and look modish. The material used for the upholstery of the seats is high-quality, while the plastic material used here is also not disappointing. The ample of spaces in the front and rear enhances the boot storage overall. The power steering wheel is positioned correctly along with the gearbox. The rear seats are also convenient, which allows three adults to be seated very comfortably. The fabric door trims, tachometers, electronic trip meter, cigarette lighter , accessory power outlet are some other interiors highlights here.

As it is the second petrol variant in the range, the car does miss out on some extra lavish features, such as audio system, leather seats, rear reading lamp, rear cup holders, rear seat centre arm rest and more. but, overall, the comfort level in Mahindra Verito 1.4 G4 BSIII is decent and not at all disappointing for the price we pay for it.

Engine

Under the hood of Mahindra Verito 1.4 G4 BSIII, you would find the very efficient and frugal, BS III complaint 1.4-litre MPFI petrol engine that has a displacement of 1390cc . This petrol motor has the capacity to producing 75 of peak power at the rate of 5500 rpm and 110Nm of maximum torque at the rate of 3000 rpm. To boost the performance of the car, the engine here has been coupled with 5-speed manual transmission , which gives the car an opportunity to go from 0 to 100 kmph in 15.8 seconds with a top speed of about 152 kmph. On the mileage front, the car engine is a great and is capable of delivering 11.3 kmpl of mileage on the city roads, while 15.7 kmpl of mileage is given out on the smooth highways.

Braking and handling

The Mahindra Verito 1.4 G4 BSIII is equipped with a humble braking system. Mahindra Verito 1.4 G4 BSIII’s front brakes are disc type and the rear brakes are drum type . The car variant here features advanced suspension system that is responsible for a comfortable driving experience. The front suspensions are McPherson-type with wishbone link while the rear is of H-section torsion beam type with programmed deflection-coil spring. This is accompanied by power steering wheel, which makes the car handling very easy and hassle free for the driver.

Safety Features

The safety features in Mahindra Verito 1.4 G4 BSIII are not in large number in order to keep the price of the car economical and affordable. Except for the strong brake system, the car comes with child safety door locks, anti-theft alarm, day and rear view mirror, passenger rear side rear view mirror , halogen headlamps, seat belts for all occupants, side and front impact beams, and engine immobilizer. All these features make Mahindra Verito 1.4 G4 BSIII fairly safe and sound for the passengers.
