The Alto Std has an in-line engine of 0.8Litre with engine displacement of 796cc , comprising of Fuel Cell technology. The engine has three cylinders incorporated for better performance along with four valves for each cylinder. The valves have a SOHC configuration and MPFI fuel supply system. Wheels

The tyre size of the Maruti Alto Std is 145/80 R12 which is compatible with the ground clearance and the turning radius of the car. The wheel size of the 145/80 R12 tyre is 12 inch that is good enough for a better grip of the tyre on road. The tyre which is being used in the Alto is tubeless.

The front brakes of the Alto Standard are disc type which can be easily handled while driving. The rear brakes of the car are drum type. The Maruti Alto Std has an efficient braking system which makes the car handier while driving on road.
