Verdict

If you need nothing more than a point-A to point-B commuter at an absolute budget, the little Maruti doesn’t disappoint. Bear in mind the Omni is no highway hero, it is best left within the confines of the city. The lack of safety features and creature comforts are big omissions. In case you do not need the extra seat space, we recommend you look at entry-level hatchbacks such as the Maruti Alto 800 or the Renault Kwid.

That said, for the price, the Maruti Suzuki Omni comes across as a no-nonsense reliable workhorse.

Things We Like

  • Space. Available as a 5- or 8-seater there’s enough room for the family and their luggage.
  • The 0.8-litre engine is known to be frugal and reliable.
  • Easy to drive inside the city, easy to park as well.

Things We Don't Like

  • Exterior build quality is strictly average.
  • Creature comforts are missing - no power windows, or even air-conditioning.
  • No safety features offered at all.

    Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Comfortable for 8 people to go at once but non ac makes it less comfortable. Seates cannot be pushed back. and engine below seats don't allow us to fit an ac.
